- I have owned it for a year & I just found a media card port on my laptop (all of this time I could have been uploading pictures by inserting the media card instead of plugging the camera in and running down the battery)
- Our bundle of toddlerjoy is allergic to EGGS (good thing is, most of the info I've read indicates he will probably grow out of it by age 5)
- I am not very efficient at putting sunscreen on my own back (hot red after just 1 1/2 hr at the kiddie pool)
- Going to the pool with my child takes away *most* of my being-in-a-bathing-suit-in-public anxiety. (I'm there for my kid, who cares! And, I have a kid, so that's my excuse for the extra layer of "fluff" around my middle)
- I realized that most everyone in my generation are (or seem to be, noting the facebook status lines, etc) Michael Jackson* fans, I slid through my youth pretty much ignoring him (and trying to come up with quick lines to answer classmate's teasing "are you related to Michael Jackson?" taunts)
- Did you know that Taco Bell now has a "PINA COLADA" fruitista freeze on their menu? ...I am assuming it is non-alcoholic...
What have you discovered in the last 24-48 hours??
*Even though I never owned any of his music (and I'm really confused about many of his life choices), there is no way I could reach adulthood without enjoying many of his songs, seeing imitations at talent shows, and enjoying a classic "Thriller" performance (and in my case, have a mission companion that could & would do it on demand). I also recognize his contribution to the world of music videos, pop culture, and many musical artist styles today. I am sad for his family and friends who are no doubt shocked by their sudden loss.

You have nothing to be embarassed about your body. You are a mom and that is beautiful! Now if I would take my own advice...
How did you discover Jackson is allergic to eggs?
Tracy, thanks for the body image uplift! :)
So...the eggs. I had given him small amounts of scrambled eggs once before. This time it was a bigger serving, he fed himself (allergies usually show up 2nd try since your body has to build up the reaction...?...something like that)--and within minutes we noticed red blotches (hives) all around his lips, on his chin & cheek. Basically everywhere the eggs touched, was red and a bit swollen. We immediately started to google 'egg allergy'...he drank a whole cup of water (scratchy/tingly throat?) and then threw the eggs up not long after that.
We are pretty confident he has an egg allergy...and now we know, we can avoid them (until dr. ok's trying them again)!
can you please ask Jackie to make a video of her doing thriller and put it on her blog for me. Thankyou.
Seriously. I would love to see that! I most miss Micheal Jackson when he was a little boy, in the Jackson 5. He was such a troubled soul. Of course I have heard more about him and seen more of his videos in 3 days than I did all these years.
Remember that air force family when you were like 13... had an Aaron my age and an Andrew your age? They were huge MJ fans and would do the most accurate impersonations imaginable.
I discovered that I like Bonanza better than Gunsmoke, even though Gunsmoke was my Granddaddy's favorite (coming on at 12 noon every day at his house). I do see why he likes Festus, though. I also like that tvland.com has shows for me to watch. :)
Of course I remember that family! I hand crafted a perfect valentine for him (my pre-teen self) and gave it to him. He said he didn't want it & broke my little heart!! hahahahaha
I don't remember their MJ impressions...funny.
I like your discoveries! Thank you for sharing!!
If you asked me what I think my dad's favorite show was when I was growing up, it would be BONANZA. It came on Sunday night, I believe. He was a true regular! By the time you were watching with him, they were re-runs of both. I don't really remembering watching Gunsmoke with him as a child but perhaps I did.
I always liked Little Joe and Hoss.
I am still sometimes in touch with Leslie Clark ( mother of Andrew and Aaron and Jordon...AND they have a last little boy..who is under 10 years old! ) They live in Layton, I believe.
I was remembering that OTHER military family...the Stephens boy was a big big MJ fan and had a glove...
Are we talking Grant?
Maybe it's a military thing. MJ did have a collection of uniform costumes...
oh yeahhhh Grant was INTO MJ too!! I think the Stephens boy that Mom was talking about was JOEL.
