Thankful Thursday: July 23rd

I send out happy (and thankful, of course!) blogging vibes from The Big City: Chicago.

We're here on a business trip...ahem...Mr. H is here on a business trip and we (J & I) are the tag-a-longs.

We (as in J) lost brownie points (haha. get it? tagalongs...) last night as we (J) didn't let Mr. H sleep very well (I didn't sleep very well either) because we (J) would NOT sleep in the pack n' play, would NOT sleep on the bed, and would NOT sleep without being held. Ok there is no 'we' to it--it was all J.

It was probably a combination of things...the long driving day, the excitement of a hotel room, the mixed up napping & eating schedule, and teething. But *still*.

So, hopefully we can re-gain our points in the next couple of days...if not, the statement from Mr. H this morning might just come true: "Next time I'm not bringing you two with me!"

However it works out in the end--

We ARE here NOW, and I am thankful.

Here's my Thankful list today:

  • I am thankful for our British accented GPS who lead us fearlessly and correctly all the way here (and into the city!)
  • I am thankful for J's absolutely excellent car trip behavior (guess we made up for it last night?)
  • I am thankful for the opportunity to enjoy a cheap family trip (thanks to The Company!)
  • I am thankful for hot water this morning (wasn't so sure when I turned on the faucet)
  • I am thankful for a dear friend from yesteryear who shares memories and who also let my child chew on their childhood toys
  • I am thankful for the easiness of planning a trip these days. A map, a gps, and the internet and you can find *anything*, know where to park, how much things will cost, and print off tickets--all without leaving home!

What are YOU thankful for today?

I LOVE Chicago!! Can't wait to see your pics and hear your travel stories. We should meet in Chicago....it's just 6 hrs for us.

We put our GPS on the British lady as well. She seems so polite when ordering us about.

I'm thankful for mapping and internet applications on smart phones! It amazes me how much I had to research and print out to take along in years past.
