Thankful Thursday: July 30th

Um.
Do you know what the date is today?
July 30th.

The 30th, people.

Can you believe we have cruised so quickly through July?

I cannot believe it. I believe my internal clock (which is *rarely* on time, by the way) is still set on May.

The infamous May of 2009 which included Mr. H's Master's graduation, a party for him & the 11 month old, packing our household, saying far too many goodbyes, loading our household into 19 feet of space, driving further north than we've ever driven before...and landing here.

It was such a busy month that I didn't really get over that it passed me by. And now we're staring face-to-face with August!?!?!

Seriously!?!

*sigh*

Okaaayyy. Onto today's JULY 30th post--

--brought to you by Kitchenaid (got mine from the refurbished section and saved a ton!)

Because my white stallion of a stand mixer is mixing frosting RIGHT NOW and I love her for it. Her skills allow me to multi-task in ways I have only dreamed of before...and now, my dreams are coming true. I am *so happy*!

And Thankful, of course.

Today I am sharing with you my thanks for answered prayers.

How often are our prayers answered and we are so happy and filled with glee for the fabulous blessing(s) that we forget to give Thanks to the Giver of all Goodness?

I can tell you that this happens daily for me.

Because I am blessed daily because of prayers that have been answered, and I don't take the time to recognize and offer thanks in the way that I really should. I mean, really. In a very general way, isn't every waking minute a blessing & answer to prayer? Do we not pray regularly "to be kept safe", "to sleep well", "to have health", etc...sometimes seeming so small but we do pray them and we are blessed, are we not?

And then there are the specifics...I am thinking also of them because I am trying so hard to recognize when they happen (so easy just to think, "I did such a great job!" or "I'm so glad that worked out"--without really giving the credit to Him who really orchestrated the beauty of the experience) and really make that recognition a part of the experience itself.

This is one of the reason I started my 'Thankful Thursday' posting, because I need an extra reason to sit and think thankfully.

Otherwise, the days slip by so busy-and-full, and all of the sudden the summer is coming to a close (July 30th, folks)-- and in between the crevices of each little day on the year of days, there are miracles we have witnessed, blessings we have received, and moments that have made all the difference. All of them are a part of our story, and all of them deserve their proper thanks.

I know we have a Heavenly Father who loves us, wants to bless us and wants us to be happy. Daily. He answers our heart's requests (not always how/when/where we think would be best), and I am thankful.

Now it is your turn.
Think of some of your heart's requests that have been answered...and give thanks!
