Thankful Thursday: November 7, 2013

So here we are--
one week into NaBloPoMo,
which has been wonderful for me
to think, delve, write, re-write,
and hit "publish" on this blog.

I have felt an extra rush of thankfulness
in this first week of November
as we have talked about thankful lists every day this week
as a family.
Writing them down in our family journal
and sharing with each other the simple and big things.

As for today...

I'm Thankful For:

-this month of November--focus on gratitude
-the twinkling of white lights
-Christmas music
-our expanding library of children's books (thankyouverymuch, craigslist)
-the Book of Mormon reading challenge from our stake president
-a sampling of a snow day for the kids to play in relatively warm temperatures
-the big hugs I get from my littles
-Miss N's new words
-Mr J's shoveling our stairs
-Mr N's whisperings "I love you"
-snow boots that fit every ones' feet
-sushi plans
-the feeling of love that comes from doing something special
-reminders & affirmations about childhood brains from the science museum
-amazing visiting teachers
-an extra hour of sleep (kind of)
-the great feeling of writing & sharing (yay NaBloPoMo!)
-skype with my Mama
-Mr. H's safe intermountain West travels
-supportive homeschooling community
-warm socks
-pomegranate arils
-clean counter tops
-space to 'stash & dash'
-encouraging nudges from dear friends
-Mr. H's dedication to our family and home (he cleans, he cooks, he cuddles kids)
-down time with favorite friends
-our fireplace (still haven't turned on the furnace)
-the gospel of Christ to give us a solid foundation and proper perspective

What is your favorite way
to count your blessings this month?

Every day in November!  NaBloPoMo: National Blog Posting Month. Write a post on your blog every day in November. For the 3rd year, I've decided to tackle this challenge & enjoy the opportunity to switch to writing mode. Want to join me? Leave your blog link in the comments so I can follow you too!

You haven't turned on your furnace?? Holy cow, that must be one good fireplace!

RIGHT!? It's ridiculous. Honestly, the fireplace doesn't do much more than heat the living room but we've been ok with that so far (and layering). It won't last much longer, though...
