Lessons Learned

As we go through our daily tasks, assignments, lists, and adventures we each have the opportunity to learn new things. Sometimes we ignore these nuggets-of-newfound-knowledge, and other times we are more aware of the lessons learned.

Here are a few of the lessons I've learned recently:

  • If you let someone borrow your vehicle, make sure they are aware that the emergency break needs to be disengaged before they begin driving
  • A tired baby will fall asleep mid-laugh
  • Kneading bread works muscles in your hands, arms, and shoulders
  • A neighborhood roofing project will probably cause headaches
  • Googlemaps --while wonderful-- is not perfect
  • The worst way to begin the week is to miss a Sunday afternoon nap
  • The best way to begin the week is to be involved in Church services
  • Teenagers that get up early to study the scriptures are the kind of teenagers I like to spend time with
  • Just because you want something to work out, doesn't mean it is the best option
  • Looking for housing 670 miles away is *complicated*
  • If you reserve a pavilion at a park, go ahead and plan for a rainy day
  • Communicating via text messages is addictive
  • If a 9 month old has the option between grabbing a spoon or a knife (out of the open dishwasher), he will choose the knife
  • A closed door will always be more safe than an open one (ie: laundry room, dishwasher, fridge, bathroom, computer hutch, closet)

  • At the end of the day, Your Mama is ALWAYS your biggest fan

  • At the end of the day, holding a sleeping babe will ALWAYS melt your heart

  • At the end of the day, if your husband is still at the library studying--you can rest assured it will not ALWAYS 'be like this'

At the end of the day - holding a sleeping babe is the *best* way to end the day

I'm so with ya! I can't wait for Sam to graduate! One month, 25 days left of school. Not that I'm counting or anything ... :)
